Kelisen Binder is an experienced estate planning, elder law, and probate attorney licensed in both Missouri and Kansas. She helps individuals and families create thoughtful plans for the future, with a focus on long-term care, Medicaid planning, and protecting loved ones.

Kelisen is a co-chair of the Estate Planning and Probate Committee of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and serves on the Missouri Bar’s estate planning committees. She is also a certified mediator and teaches mediation courses throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area. She is one of the few court-appointed mediators serving Clay, Platte, and Jackson Counties in Missouri.

Her legal insight has been recognized throughout the profession. Kelisen is a published author in the Kansas City Bar Journal and has been selected as a Missouri Super Lawyer every year since 2020. She was named one of the Top 10 Attorneys Under 40 by the National Association of Family Law Attorneys and was later selected for Marquis Who’s Who in America. In 2024, she received the Expertise Best Estate Planning Attorney in Kansas City award.

Kelisen’s practice is centered on practical, compassionate planning. She assists clients with wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives, Medicaid planning, special needs planning, guardianships, and probate administration in both Missouri and Kansas. Her goal is to help families make informed decisions and move forward with clarity and peace of mind.

Beyond her practice, Kelisen is deeply involved in the Kansas City community. She is a graduate of the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce Centurions Leadership Program and serves on the board of Support on the Spectrum, a nonprofit that helps families plan for the future care of loved ones with disabilities. She also founded Legal Services for Families of Missouri, a nonprofit dedicated to providing legal resources to families across the state.

Kelisen is a member of WealthCounsel, the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys, the National Care Planning Council, the Association of Missouri Mediators, and the Kansas and Missouri Bar Associations.

Kaelyn Guinty earned her Juris Doctor from University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law in 2019. During law school, she gained valuable experience working with the Midwest Innocence Project and the school’s Child and Family Services Clinic, where she developed a strong foundation in advocacy and client representation.

Over the course of more than eight years in practice, Kaelyn has represented clients in a wide range of criminal defense and family law matters. Her experience includes handling cases involving mediation divorce, child custody, parenting time, child support, guardianships, and protective orders, as well as misdemeanor and felony criminal matters.

Kaelyn is licensed to practice law in both Kansas and Missouri. She also serves as a Guardian ad Litem, representing the best interests of children in matters involving divorce, custody, and parental rights and responsibilities. In this role, she conducts independent investigations and provides recommendations to assist the court in determining outcomes that best serve the child’s welfare.

In addition to her litigation practice, Kaelyn is a trained mediator through the MARCH Mediation and is committed to helping families resolve disputes in a constructive and respectful manner. She understands that family law matters often involve emotionally challenging circumstances, and she works diligently to help clients reach practical solutions that protect their interests while minimizing conflict whenever possible. Kaelyn is dedicated to helping families navigate difficult transitions with compassion, clear communication, and strong advocacy both inside and outside the courtroom.

Today, Kaelyn’s practice remains focused on criminal defense and family law, where she is committed to providing thoughtful, effective, and client-centered representation.
