Kelisen has experience both in front of and behind the bench. Prior to founding The Binder Firm, she served as the judicial law clerk for the Honorable Janette R. Rodecap of the 16th Judicial Circuit. Having the privilege and responsibility of clerking for a judge provided Kelisen with a multidimensional understanding of how the judicial system works. Since then, Kelisen has dedicated her practice to Family and Criminal Law. She has represented clients in dissolutions of marriage, modification of custody and child support actions, establishment of child support actions, adoption matters, paternity actions, and misdemeanor and felony charges. She is frequently appointed by Judges as a Guardian ad Litem, an attorney who will advocate for the best interest of a child in court proceedings.
Kelisen is an active member of the Kansas City legal community. She is the committee vice-chair for the Young Lawyers Public Relations committee and sits on the Board of Directors for the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Foundation. Kelisen recently graduated from the Kansas City Bar Leadership Academy and she is a published author in the KC Counselor. The Binder Firm is a member of the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and Kelisen is in the 2020 Class of the Centurions Leadership Program.
Kelisen Molloy is a native of Missouri, born and raised in Chillicothe. Kelisen was the first person in her family to obtain her degree. She received a full academic scholarship and graduated from Evangel University in Springfield with a degree in Public Administration and Spanish. She continued to law school, and in 2013 received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law.
Life experience has given Kelisen an understanding and empathy for her clients that makes all the difference. She is passionate about advocating for her clients and providing a sound legal voice to families in Kansas City. Kelisen understands each person is facing a unique challenge, and she stands ready and fully prepared to provide the necessary expertise to effectuate the best possible outcome.
